One thing about it, is that it shoots anything you feed it. People with concealed Pistol Licenses can forgo that bit of BS. Doesn't make any sense!! I have a CPL, so I did not have to go to the Sheriff's Office and get a Pistol Purchase license (good for 10 days). This rifle is now registered as a very long barrled pistol in Michigan. Now I have 10 days to send in the 2 copies of the "pistol" registration slips to my local Sheriff Dept and I keep one for 30 days for "proof". Bought/traded the Sig 522 (California model) for the one with the screw off muzzle brake/flash supressor today and THEY registered it as a PISTOL for Michigan, and as a long gun for Federal. My wfie was a bit nervous about it and encouraged me to trade with the folks at the other gun store, which I did today. I bought mine as a rifle, both Federal (which is supposed to be) and as a rifle (State). However, if the barrel is 16" and the overall length is 30 inches or less it is considered a pistol. If it's under 26" overall with a barrel of 16" it is considered a "Short Barrel Rifle" and is illegal in the State of Michigan. Even if I sold it to someone that lived in a state that allows a silencer (suppressor) they would not be interested in it as it does not have the screw off flahs hider.Ĭorrecton on the Mich. I've seen this on the internet, but really, this manual I have states that it has 1/2 -28 TPI on the end of the barrel and a regular A2 flash suppreson with that crush washer.ĭoes welding affect the end of the barrel in the crown area for accuracy? Looks like it might take the temper out of the barrel steel having a circular weld job done on it. The flash hider is also one that does not have a solid bottom, but the slots go all the way around. 223/556 AR-15 rifles, and this one has pictures of that kind of flash suppressor all over the internet. It is NOT the normal flash hider you all see on the. Now, I never noticed until I decided to clean out the oil in the barrel Saturday night, but the flash hider is completely welded on. I have seen others on Gun Brokers that came with a 25 round magazine.

It has a collapsible stock and then you can also fold it to the side. Bought a 22 LR rifle Saturday, a Sig model 522.
